| מִשְׁלֵ֗י שְׁלֹ֫מֹ֥ה פבֵּ֣ן חָ֭כָם יְשַׂמַּח־אָ֑ב וּבֵ֥ן כְּ֝סִ֗יל תּוּגַ֥ת אִמּֽוֹ׃ | א | 1 | {S} The proverbs of Solomon. {N} A wise son maketh a glad father; but a foolish son is the grief of his mother. |
| לֹא־י֭וֹעִילוּ אוֹצְר֣וֹת רֶ֑שַׁע וּ֝צְדָקָ֗ה תַּצִּ֥יל מִמָּֽוֶת׃ | ב | 2 | Treasures of wickedness profit nothing; but righteousness delivereth from death. |
| לֹֽא־יַרְעִ֣יב יְ֭הוָה נֶ֣פֶשׁ צַדִּ֑יק וְהַוַּ֖ת רְשָׁעִ֣ים יֶהְדֹּֽף׃ | ג | 3 | Yehovah will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish; but He thrusteth away the desire of the wicked. |
| רָ֗אשׁ עֹשֶׂ֥ה כַף־רְמִיָּ֑ה וְיַ֖ד חָרוּצִ֣ים תַּעֲשִֽׁיר׃ | ד | 4 | He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand; but the hand of the diligent maketh rich. |
| אֹגֵ֣ר בַּ֭קַּיִץ בֵּ֣ן מַשְׂכִּ֑יל נִרְדָּ֥ם בַּ֝קָּצִ֗יר בֵּ֣ן מֵבִֽישׁ׃ | ה | 5 | A wise son gathereth in summer; but a son that doeth shamefully sleepeth in harvest. |
| בְּ֭רָכוֹת לְרֹ֣אשׁ צַדִּ֑יק וּפִ֥י רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים יְכַסֶּ֥ה חָמָֽס׃ | ו | 6 | Blessings are upon the head of the righteous; but the mouth of the wicked concealeth violence. |
| זֵ֣כֶר צַ֭דִּיק לִבְרָכָ֑ה וְשֵׁ֖ם רְשָׁעִ֣ים יִרְקָֽב׃ | ז | 7 | The memory of the righteous shall be for a blessing; but the name of the wicked shall rot. |
| חֲכַם־לֵ֭ב יִקַּ֣ח מִצְוֺ֑ת וֶאֱוִ֥יל שְׂ֝פָתַ֗יִם יִלָּבֵֽט׃ | ח | 8 | The wise in heart will receive commandments; but a prating fool shall fall. |
| הוֹלֵ֣ךְ בַּ֭תֹּם יֵ֣לֶךְ בֶּ֑טַח וּמְעַקֵּ֥שׁ דְּ֝רָכָ֗יו יִוָּדֵֽעַ׃ | ט | 9 | He that walketh uprightly walketh securely; but he that perverteth his ways shall be found out. |
קֹ֣רֵֽץ  עַ֭יִן יִתֵּ֣ן עַצָּ֑בֶת וֶאֱוִ֥יל שְׂ֝פָתַ֗יִם יִלָּבֵֽט׃

י | 10 | He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow; and a prating fool shall fall. |
| מְק֣וֹר חַ֭יִּים פִּ֣י צַדִּ֑יק וּפִ֥י רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים יְכַסֶּ֥ה חָמָֽס׃ | יא | 11 | The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life; but the mouth of the wicked concealeth violence. |
| שִׂ֭נְאָה תְּעוֹרֵ֣ר מְדָנִ֑ים וְעַ֥ל כָּל־פְּ֝שָׁעִ֗ים תְּכַסֶּ֥ה אַהֲבָֽה׃ | יב | 12 | Hatred stirreth up strifes; but love covereth all transgressions. |
| בְּשִׂפְתֵ֣י נָ֭בוֹן תִּמָּצֵ֣א חָכְמָ֑ה וְ֝שֵׁ֗בֶט לְגֵ֣ו חֲסַר־לֵֽב׃ | יג | 13 | In the lips of him that hath discernment wisdom is found; but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding. |
| חֲכָמִ֥ים יִצְפְּנוּ־דָ֑עַת וּפִֽי־אֱ֝וִיל מְחִתָּ֥ה קְרֹבָֽה׃ | יד | 14 | Wise men lay up knowledge; but the mouth of the foolish is an imminent ruin. |
| ה֣וֹן עָ֭שִׁיר קִרְיַ֣ת עֻזּ֑וֹ מְחִתַּ֖ת דַּלִּ֣ים רֵישָֽׁם׃ | יה | 15 | The rich man's wealth is his strong city; the ruin of the poor is their poverty. |
| פְּעֻלַּ֣ת צַדִּ֣יק לְחַיִּ֑ים תְּבוּאַ֖ת רָשָׁ֣ע לְחַטָּֽאת׃ | יו | 16 | The wages of the righteous is life; the increase of the wicked is sin. |
| אֹ֣רַח לְ֭חַיִּים שׁוֹמֵ֣ר מוּסָ֑ר וְעוֹזֵ֖ב תּוֹכַ֣חַת מַתְעֶֽה׃ | יז | 17 | He is in the way of life that heedeth instruction; but he that forsaketh reproof erreth. |
| מְכַסֶּ֣ה שִׂ֭נְאָה שִׂפְתֵי־שָׁ֑קֶר וּמוֹצִ֥א דִ֝בָּ֗ה ה֣וּא כְסִֽיל׃ | יח | 18 | He that hideth hatred is of lying lips; and he that uttereth a slander is a fool. |
| בְּרֹ֣ב דְּ֭בָרִים לֹ֣א יֶחְדַּל־פָּ֑שַׁע וְחֹשֵׂ֖ךְ שְׂפָתָ֣יו מַשְׂכִּֽיל׃ | יט | 19 | In the multitude of words there wanteth not transgression; but he that refraineth his lips is wise. |
| כֶּ֣סֶף נִ֭בְחָר לְשׁ֣וֹן צַדִּ֑יק לֵ֖ב רְשָׁעִ֣ים כִּמְעָֽט׃ | כ | 20 | The tongue of the righteous is as choice silver; the heart of the wicked is little worth. |
| שִׂפְתֵ֣י צַ֭דִּיק יִרְע֣וּ רַבִּ֑ים וֶֽ֝אֱוִילִ֗ים בַּחֲסַר־לֵ֥ב יָמֽוּתוּ׃ | כא | 21 | The lips of the righteous feed many; but the foolish die for want of understanding. |
| בִּרְכַּ֣ת יְ֭הוָה הִ֣יא תַעֲשִׁ֑יר וְלֹֽא־יוֹסִ֖ף עֶ֣צֶב עִמָּֽהּ׃ | כב | 22 | The blessing of Yehovah, it maketh rich, and toil addeth nothing thereto. |
| כִּשְׂח֣וֹק לִ֭כְסִיל עֲשׂ֣וֹת זִמָּ֑ה וְ֝חָכְמָ֗ה לְאִ֣ישׁ תְּבוּנָֽה׃ | כג | 23 | It is as sport to a fool to do wickedness, and so is wisdom to a man of discernment. |
| מְגוֹרַ֣ת רָ֭שָׁע הִ֣יא תְבוֹאֶ֑נּוּ וְתַאֲוַ֖ת צַדִּיקִ֣ים יִתֵּֽן׃ | כד | 24 | The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him; and the desire of the righteous shall be granted. |
| כַּעֲב֣וֹר ס֭וּפָה וְאֵ֣ין רָשָׁ֑ע וְ֝צַדִּ֗יק יְס֣וֹד עוֹלָֽם׃ | כה | 25 | When the whirlwind passeth, the wicked is no more; but the righteous is an everlasting foundation. |
| כַּחֹ֤מֶץ ׀ לַשִּׁנַּ֗יִם וְכֶעָשָׁ֥ן לָעֵינָ֑יִם כֵּ֥ן הֶ֝עָצֵ֗ל לְשֹׁלְחָֽיו׃ | כו | 26 | As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him. |
| יִרְאַ֣ת יְ֭הוָה תּוֹסִ֣יף יָמִ֑ים וּשְׁנ֖וֹת רְשָׁעִ֣ים תִּקְצֹֽרְנָה׃ | כז | 27 | The fear of Yehovah prolongeth days; but the years of the wicked shall be shortened. |
| תּוֹחֶ֣לֶת צַדִּיקִ֣ים שִׂמְחָ֑ה וְתִקְוַ֖ת רְשָׁעִ֣ים תֹּאבֵֽד׃ | כח | 28 | The hope of the righteous is gladness; but the expectation of the wicked shall perish. |
| מָע֣וֹז לַ֭תֹּם דֶּ֣רֶךְ יְהוָ֑ה וּ֝מְחִתָּ֗ה לְפֹ֣עֲלֵי אָֽוֶן׃ | כט | 29 | The way of Yehovah is a stronghold to the upright, but ruin to the workers of iniquity. |
| צַדִּ֣יק לְעוֹלָ֣ם בַּל־יִמּ֑וֹט וּ֝רְשָׁעִ֗ים לֹ֣א יִשְׁכְּנוּ־אָֽרֶץ׃ | ל | 30 | The righteous shall never be moved; but the wicked shall not inhabit the land. |
| פִּֽי־צַ֭דִּיק יָנ֣וּב חָכְמָ֑ה וּלְשׁ֥וֹן תַּ֝הְפֻּכ֗וֹת תִּכָּרֵֽת׃ | לא | 31 | The mouth of the righteous buddeth with wisdom; but the froward tongue shall be cut off. |
| שִׂפְתֵ֣י צַ֭דִּיק יֵדְע֣וּן רָצ֑וֹן וּפִ֥י רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים תַּהְפֻּכֽוֹת׃ | לב | 32 | The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable; but the mouth of the wicked is all frowardness. |
