שִׁ֗יר הַֽמַּ֫עֲל֥וֹת זְכוֹר־יְהוָ֥ה לְדָוִ֑ד אֵ֝ת כָּל־עֻנּוֹתֽוֹ׃

A Song of Ascents. {N} Yehovah, remember unto David all his affliction;
|
|
אֲשֶׁ֣ר נִ֭שְׁבַּע לַיהוָ֑ה נָ֝דַ֗ר לַאֲבִ֥יר יַעֲקֹֽב׃
|
ב
|

|
How he swore unto Yehovah, and vowed unto the Mighty One of Jacob:
|
|
אִם־אָ֭בֹא בְּאֹ֣הֶל בֵּיתִ֑י אִם־אֶ֝עֱלֶ֗ה עַל־עֶ֥רֶשׂ יְצוּעָֽי׃
|
ג
|

|
'Surely I will not come into the tent of my house, nor go up into the bed that is spread for me;
|
|
אִם־אֶתֵּ֣ן שְׁנַ֣ת לְעֵינָ֑י לְֽעַפְעַפַּ֥י תְּנוּמָֽה׃
|
ד
|
4
|
I will not give sleep to mine eyes, nor slumber to mine eyelids;
|
|
עַד־אֶמְצָ֣א מָ֭קוֹם לַיהוָ֑ה מִ֝שְׁכָּנ֗וֹת לַאֲבִ֥יר יַעֲקֹֽב׃
|
ה
|

|
Until I find out a place for Yehovah, a dwelling-place for the Mighty One of Jacob.'
|
|
הִנֵּֽה־שְׁמַֽעֲנ֥וּהָ בְאֶפְרָ֑תָה מְ֝צָאנ֗וּהָ בִּשְׂדֵי־יָֽעַר׃
|
ו
|

|
Lo, we heard of it as being in Ephrath; we found it in the field of the wood.
|
|
נָב֥וֹאָה לְמִשְׁכְּנוֹתָ֑יו נִ֝שְׁתַּחֲוֶ֗ה לַהֲדֹ֥ם רַגְלָֽיו׃

|
Let us go into His dwelling-place; let us worship at His footstool.
|
|
קוּמָ֣ה יְ֭הוָה לִמְנוּחָתֶ֑ךָ אַ֝תָּ֗ה וַאֲר֥וֹן עֻזֶּֽךָ׃
|
ח
|
8
|
Arise, Yehovah, unto Thy resting-place; Thou, and the ark of Thy strength.
|
|
כֹּהֲנֶ֥יךָ יִלְבְּשׁוּ־צֶ֑דֶק וַחֲסִידֶ֥יךָ יְרַנֵּֽנוּ׃
|
ט
|

|
Let Thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let Thy saints shout for joy.
|
|
בַּ֭עֲבוּר דָּוִ֣ד עַבְדֶּ֑ךָ אַל־תָּ֝שֵׁ֗ב פְּנֵ֣י מְשִׁיחֶֽךָ׃
|

|
For Thy servant David's sake turn not away the face of Thine anointed.
|
|
נִשְׁבַּֽע־יְהוָ֨ה ׀ לְדָוִ֡ד אֱמֶת֮ לֹֽא־יָשׁ֪וּב מִ֫מֶּ֥נָּה מִפְּרִ֥י בִטְנְךָ֑ אָ֝שִׁ֗ית לְכִסֵּא־לָֽךְ׃

|
Yehovah swore unto David in truth; He will not turn back from it: {N} 'Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.
|
|
אִֽם־יִשְׁמְר֬וּ בָנֶ֨יךָ ׀ בְּרִיתִי֮ וְעֵדֹתִ֥י ז֗וֹ אֲלַ֫מְּדֵ֥ם גַּם־בְּנֵיהֶ֥ם עֲדֵי־עַ֑ד יֵ֝שְׁב֗וּ לְכִסֵּא־לָֽךְ׃
|
יב
|
12
|
If thy children keep My covenant and My testimony that I shall teach them, {N} their children also for ever shall sit upon thy throne.'
|
|
כִּֽי־בָחַ֣ר יְהוָ֣ה בְּצִיּ֑וֹן אִ֝וָּ֗הּ לְמוֹשָׁ֥ב לֽוֹ׃
|
יג
|
13
|
For Yehovah hath chosen Zion; He hath desired it for His habitation:
|
|
זֹאת־מְנוּחָתִ֥י עֲדֵי־עַ֑ד פֹּֽה־אֵ֝שֵׁ֗ב כִּ֣י אִוִּתִֽיהָ׃
|
יד
|
14
|
'This is My resting-place for ever; here will I dwell; for I have desired it.
|
|
צֵ֭ידָהּ בָּרֵ֣ךְ אֲבָרֵ֑ךְ אֶ֝בְיוֹנֶ֗יהָ אַשְׂבִּ֥יעַֽ לָֽחֶם׃
|
יה
|
15
|
I will abundantly bless her provision; I will give her needy bread in plenty.
|
|
וְֽ֭כֹהֲנֶיהָ אַלְבִּ֣ישׁ יֶ֑שַׁע וַ֝חֲסִידֶ֗יהָ רַנֵּ֥ן יְרַנֵּֽנוּ׃
|
יו
|
16
|
Her priests also will I clothe with salvation; and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.
|
|
שָׁ֤ם אַצְמִ֣יחַ קֶ֣רֶן לְדָוִ֑ד עָרַ֥כְתִּי נֵ֝֗ר לִמְשִׁיחִֽי׃
|
יז
|
17
|
There will I make a horn to shoot up unto David, there have I ordered a lamp for Mine anointed.
|
|
א֭וֹיְבָיו אַלְבִּ֣ישׁ בֹּ֑שֶׁת וְ֝עָלָ֗יו יָצִ֥יץ נִזְרֽוֹ׃
|

|
18
|
His enemies will I clothe with shame; but upon himself shall his crown shine.' {P}
