| שִׁ֗יר הַֽמַּ֫עֲל֥וֹת אֶל־יְ֭הוָה בַּצָּרָ֣תָה לִּ֑י קָ֝רָ֗אתִי וַֽיַּעֲנֵֽנִי׃ | א | 1 | A Song of Ascents. {N} In my distress I called unto Yehovah, and He answered me. |
| יְֽהוָ֗ה הַצִּ֣ילָה נַ֭פְשִׁי מִשְּׂפַת־שֶׁ֑קֶר מִלָּשׁ֥וֹן רְמִיָּֽה׃ | ב | 2 | Yehovah, deliver my soul from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue. |
| מַה־יִּתֵּ֣ן לְ֭ךָ וּמַה־יֹּסִ֥יף לָ֗ךְ לָשׁ֥וֹן רְמִיָּֽה׃ | ג | 3 | What shall be given unto thee, and what shall be done more unto thee, thou deceitful tongue? |
| חִצֵּ֣י גִבּ֣וֹר שְׁנוּנִ֑ים עִ֝֗ם גַּחֲלֵ֥י רְתָמִֽים׃ | ד | 4 | Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of broom. |
| אֽוֹיָה־לִ֭י כִּי־גַ֣רְתִּי מֶ֑שֶׁךְ שָׁ֝כַ֗נְתִּי עִֽם־אָהֳלֵ֥י קֵדָֽר׃ | ה | 5 | Woe is me, that I sojourn with Meshech, that I dwell beside the tents of Kedar! |
| רַ֭בַּת שָֽׁכְנָה־לָּ֣הּ נַפְשִׁ֑י עִ֝֗ם שׂוֹנֵ֥א שָׁלֽוֹם׃ | ו | 6 | My soul hath full long had her dwelling with him that hateth peace. |
| אֲֽנִי־שָׁ֭לוֹם וְכִ֣י אֲדַבֵּ֑ר הֵ֝֗מָּה לַמִּלְחָמָֽה׃ | ז | 7 | I am all peace; but when I speak, they are for war. {P} |

| שִׁ֗יר לַֽמַּ֫עֲל֥וֹת אֶשָּׂ֣א עֵ֭ינַי אֶל־הֶהָרִ֑ים מֵ֝אַ֗יִן יָבֹ֥א עֶזְרִֽי׃ | א | 1 | A Song of Ascents. {N} I will lift up mine eyes unto the mountains: from whence shall my help come? |
| עֶ֭זְרִי מֵעִ֣ם יְהוָ֑ה עֹ֝שֵׂ֗ה שָׁמַ֥יִם וָאָֽרֶץ׃ | ב | 2 | My help cometh from Yehovah, who made heaven and earth. |
| אַל־יִתֵּ֣ן לַמּ֣וֹט רַגְלֶ֑ךָ אַל־יָ֝נ֗וּם שֹֽׁמְרֶֽךָ׃ | ג | 3 | He will not suffer thy foot to be moved; He that keepeth thee will not slumber. |
| הִנֵּ֣ה לֹֽא־יָ֭נוּם וְלֹ֣א יִישָׁ֑ן שׁ֝וֹמֵ֗ר יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ | ד | 4 | Behold, He that keepeth Israel doth neither slumber nor sleep. |
| יְהוָ֥ה שֹׁמְרֶ֑ךָ יְהוָ֥ה צִ֝לְּךָ֗ עַל־יַ֥ד יְמִינֶֽךָ׃ | ה | 5 | Yehovah is thy keeper; Yehovah is thy shade upon thy right hand. |
| יוֹמָ֗ם הַשֶּׁ֥מֶשׁ לֹֽא־יַכֶּ֗כָּה וְיָרֵ֥חַ בַּלָּֽיְלָה׃ | ו | 6 | The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. |
| יְֽהוָ֗ה יִשְׁמָרְךָ֥ מִכָּל־רָ֑ע יִ֝שְׁמֹ֗ר אֶת־נַפְשֶֽׁךָ׃ | ז | 7 | Yehovah shall keep thee from all evil; He shall keep thy soul. |
| יְֽהוָ֗ה יִשְׁמָר־צֵאתְךָ֥ וּבוֹאֶ֑ךָ מֵֽ֝עַתָּ֗ה וְעַד־עוֹלָֽם׃ | ח | 8 | Yehovah shall guard thy going out and thy coming in, from this time forth and for ever. {P} |

| שִׁ֥יר הַֽמַּעֲל֗וֹת לְדָ֫וִ֥ד שָׂ֭מַחְתִּי בְּאֹמְרִ֣ים לִ֑י בֵּ֖ית יְהוָ֣ה נֵלֵֽךְ׃ | א | 1 | A Song of Ascents; of David. {N} I rejoiced when they said unto me: 'Let us go unto the house of Yehovah.' |
| עֹ֭מְדוֹת הָי֣וּ רַגְלֵ֑ינוּ בִּ֝שְׁעָרַ֗יִךְ יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ | ב | 2 | Our feet are standing within thy gates, O Yerushalam; |
| יְרוּשָׁלִַ֥ם הַבְּנוּיָ֑ה כְּ֝עִ֗יר שֶׁחֻבְּרָה־לָּ֥הּ יַחְדָּֽו׃ | ג | 3 | Yerushalam, that art builded as a city that is compact together; |
| שֶׁשָּׁ֨ם עָל֪וּ שְׁבָטִ֡ים שִׁבְטֵי־יָ֭הּ עֵד֣וּת לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל לְ֝הֹד֗וֹת לְשֵׁ֣ם יְהוָֽה׃ | ד | 4 | Whither the tribes went up, even the tribes of Yah, as a testimony unto Israel, to give thanks unto the name of Yehovah. |
| כִּ֤י שָׁ֨מָּה ׀ יָשְׁב֣וּ כִסְא֣וֹת לְמִשְׁפָּ֑ט כִּ֝סְא֗וֹת לְבֵ֣ית דָּוִֽיד׃ | ה | 5 | For there were set thrones for judgment, the thrones of the house of David. |
| שַׁ֭אֲלוּ שְׁל֣וֹם יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם יִ֝שְׁלָ֗יוּ אֹהֲבָֽיִךְ׃ | ו | 6 | Pray for the peace of Yerushalam; may they prosper that love thee. |
| יְהִֽי־שָׁל֥וֹם בְּחֵילֵ֑ךְ שַׁ֝לְוָ֗ה בְּאַרְמְנוֹתָֽיִךְ׃ | ז | 7 | Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces. |
| לְ֭מַעַן אַחַ֣י וְרֵעָ֑י אֲדַבְּרָה־נָּ֖א שָׁל֣וֹם בָּֽךְ׃ | ח | 8 | For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say: 'Peace be within thee.' |
| לְ֭מַעַן בֵּית־יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ אֲבַקְשָׁ֖ה ט֣וֹב לָֽךְ׃ | ט | 9 | For the sake of the house of Yehovah our God I will seek thy good. {P} |

| שִׁ֗יר הַֽמַּ֫עֲל֥וֹת אֵ֭לֶיךָ נָשָׂ֣אתִי אֶת־עֵינַ֑י הַ֝יֹּשְׁבִ֗י בַּשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ | א | 1 | A Song of Ascents. {N} Unto Thee I lift up mine eyes, O Thou that art enthroned in the heavens. |
| הִנֵּ֨ה כְעֵינֵ֪י עֲבָדִ֡ים אֶל־יַ֤ד אֲֽדוֹנֵיהֶ֗ם כְּעֵינֵ֣י שִׁפְחָה֮ אֶל־יַ֪ד גְּבִ֫רְתָּ֥הּ כֵּ֣ן עֵ֭ינֵינוּ אֶל־יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ עַ֝֗ד שֶׁיְּחָנֵּֽנוּ׃ | ב | 2 | Behold, as the eyes of servants unto the hand of their master, {N} as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; {N} so our eyes look unto Yehovah our God, until He be gracious unto us. |
| חָנֵּ֣נוּ יְהוָ֣ה חָנֵּ֑נוּ כִּֽי־רַ֝֗ב שָׂבַ֥עְנוּ בֽוּז׃ | ג | 3 | Be gracious unto us, Yehovah, be gracious unto us; for we are full sated with contempt. |
רַבַּת֮ שָֽׂבְעָה־לָּ֪הּ נַ֫פְשֵׁ֥נוּ הַלַּ֥עַג הַשַּׁאֲנַנִּ֑ים הַ֝בּ֗וּז לִגְאֵ֥יוֹנִֽים׃

ד | 4 | Our soul is full sated {N} with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud oppressors. {P} |

| שִׁ֥יר הַֽמַּעֲל֗וֹת לְדָ֫וִ֥ד לוּלֵ֣י יְ֭הוָה שֶׁהָ֣יָה לָ֑נוּ יֹֽאמַר־נָ֝א יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ | א | 1 | A Song of Ascents; of David. {N} 'If it had not been Yehovah who was for us', let Israel now say; |
| לוּלֵ֣י יְ֭הוָה שֶׁהָ֣יָה לָ֑נוּ בְּק֖וּם עָלֵ֣ינוּ אָדָֽם׃ | ב | 2 | 'If it had not been Yehovah who was for us, when men rose up against us, |
| אֲ֭זַי חַיִּ֣ים בְּלָע֑וּנוּ בַּחֲר֖וֹת אַפָּ֣ם בָּֽנוּ׃ | ג | 3 | Then they had swallowed us up alive, when their wrath was kindled against us; |
אֲ֭זַי הַמַּ֣יִם שְׁטָפ֑וּנוּ נַ֗֜חְלָה עָבַ֥ר עַל־נַפְשֵֽׁנוּ׃

ד | 4 | Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul; |
| אֲ֭זַי עָבַ֣ר עַל־נַפְשֵׁ֑נוּ הַ֝מַּ֗יִם הַזֵּֽידוֹנִֽים׃ | ה | 5 | Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.' |
| בָּר֥וּךְ יְהוָ֑ה שֶׁלֹּ֥א נְתָנָ֥נוּ טֶ֝֗רֶף לְשִׁנֵּיהֶֽם׃ | ו | 6 | Blessed be Yehovah, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth. |
| נַפְשֵׁ֗נוּ כְּצִפּ֥וֹר נִמְלְטָה֮ מִפַּ֪ח י֫וֹקְשִׁ֥ים הַפַּ֥ח נִשְׁבָּ֗ר וַאֲנַ֥חְנוּ נִמְלָֽטְנוּ׃ | ז | 7 | Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers; {N} the snare is broken, and we are escaped. |
| עֶ֭זְרֵנוּ בְּשֵׁ֣ם יְהוָ֑ה עֹ֝שֵׂ֗ה שָׁמַ֥יִם וָאָֽרֶץ׃ | ח | 8 | Our help is in the name of Yehovah, who made heaven and earth. {P} |
