| הֹד֣וּ לַיהוָ֣ה כִּי־ט֑וֹב כִּ֖י לְעוֹלָ֣ם חַסְדּֽוֹ׃ | א | 1 | 'O give thanks unto Yehovah, for He is good, for His mercy endureth for ever.' |
| יֹ֭אמְרוּ גְּאוּלֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר גְּ֝אָלָ֗ם מִיַּד־צָֽר׃ | ב | 2 | So let the redeemed of Yehovah say, whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the adversary; |
| וּֽמֵאֲרָצ֗וֹת קִ֫בְּצָ֥ם מִמִּזְרָ֥ח וּמִֽמַּעֲרָ֑ב מִצָּפ֥וֹן וּמִיָּֽם׃ | ג | 3 | And gathered them out of the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the sea. |
| תָּע֣וּ בַ֭מִּדְבָּר בִּישִׁימ֣וֹן דָּ֑רֶךְ עִ֥יר מ֝וֹשָׁ֗ב לֹ֣א מָצָֽאוּ׃ | ד | 4 | They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way; they found no city of habitation. |
| רְעֵבִ֥ים גַּם־צְמֵאִ֑ים נַ֝פְשָׁ֗ם בָּהֶ֥ם תִּתְעַטָּֽף׃ | ה | 5 | Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them. |
| וַיִּצְעֲק֣וּ אֶל־יְ֭הוָה בַּצַּ֣ר לָהֶ֑ם מִ֝מְּצֽוּקוֹתֵיהֶ֗ם יַצִּילֵֽם׃ | ו | 6 | Then they cried unto Yehovah in their trouble, and He delivered them out of their distresses. |
| וַ֭יַּֽדְרִיכֵם בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ יְשָׁרָ֑ה לָ֝לֶ֗כֶת אֶל־עִ֥יר מוֹשָֽׁב׃ | ז | 7 | And He led them by a straight way, that they might go to a city of habitation. |
| יוֹד֣וּ לַיהוָ֣ה חַסְדּ֑וֹ וְ֝נִפְלְאוֹתָ֗יו לִבְנֵ֥י אָדָֽם׃ | ח | 8 | Let them give thanks unto Yehovah for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! |
| כִּי־הִ֭שְׂבִּיעַ נֶ֣פֶשׁ שֹׁקֵקָ֑ה וְנֶ֥פֶשׁ רְ֝עֵבָה מִלֵּא־טֽוֹב׃ | ט | 9 | For He hath satisfied the longing soul, and the hungry soul He hath filled with good. |
| יֹ֭שְׁבֵי חֹ֣שֶׁךְ וְצַלְמָ֑וֶת אֲסִירֵ֖י עֳנִ֣י וּבַרְזֶֽל׃ | י | 10 | Such as sat in darkness and in great darkness, being bound in affliction and iron-- |
| כִּֽי־הִמְר֥וּ אִמְרֵי־אֵ֑ל וַעֲצַ֖ת עֶלְי֣וֹן נָאָֽצוּ׃ | יא | 11 | Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the Most High. |
| וַיַּכְנַ֣ע בֶּעָמָ֣ל לִבָּ֑ם כָּ֝שְׁל֗וּ וְאֵ֣ין עֹזֵֽר׃ | יב | 12 | Therefore He humbled their heart with travail, they stumbled, and there was none to help-- |
| וַיִּזְעֲק֣וּ אֶל־יְ֭הוָה בַּצַּ֣ר לָהֶ֑ם מִ֝מְּצֻֽקוֹתֵיהֶ֗ם יוֹשִׁיעֵֽם׃ | יג | 13 | They cried unto Yehovah in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses. |
| יֽ֭וֹצִיאֵם מֵחֹ֣שֶׁךְ וְצַלְמָ֑וֶת וּמוֹסְר֖וֹתֵיהֶ֣ם יְנַתֵּֽק׃ | יד | 14 | He brought them out of darkness and great darkness, and broke their bands in sunder. |
| יוֹד֣וּ לַיהוָ֣ה חַסְדּ֑וֹ וְ֝נִפְלְאוֹתָ֗יו לִבְנֵ֥י אָדָֽם׃ | יה | 15 | Let them give thanks unto Yehovah for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! |
| כִּֽי־שִׁ֭בַּר דַּלְת֣וֹת נְחֹ֑שֶׁת וּבְרִיחֵ֖י בַרְזֶ֣ל גִּדֵּֽעַ׃ | יו | 16 | For He hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder. |
| אֱ֭וִלִים מִדֶּ֣רֶךְ פִּשְׁעָ֑ם וּֽ֝מֵעֲוֺֽנֹתֵיהֶ֗ם יִתְעַנּֽוּ׃ | יז | 17 | Crazed because of the way of their transgression, and afflicted because of their iniquities-- |
| כָּל־אֹ֭כֶל תְּתַעֵ֣ב נַפְשָׁ֑ם וַ֝יַּגִּ֗יעוּ עַד־שַׁ֥עֲרֵי מָֽוֶת׃ | יח | 18 | Their soul abhorred all manner of food, and they drew near unto the gates of death-- |
| וַיִּזְעֲק֣וּ אֶל־יְ֭הוָה בַּצַּ֣ר לָהֶ֑ם מִ֝מְּצֻֽקוֹתֵיהֶ֗ם יוֹשִׁיעֵֽם׃ | יט | 19 | They cried unto Yehovah in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses; |
| יִשְׁלַ֣ח דְּ֭בָרוֹ וְיִרְפָּאֵ֑ם וִֽ֝ימַלֵּ֗ט מִשְּׁחִיתוֹתָֽם׃ ׆ | כ | 20 | He sent His word, and healed them, and delivered them from their graves. |
| יוֹד֣וּ לַיהוָ֣ה חַסְדּ֑וֹ וְ֝נִפְלְאוֹתָ֗יו לִבְנֵ֥י אָדָֽם׃ ׆ | כא | 21 | Let them give thanks unto Yehovah for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! |
| וְ֭יִזְבְּחוּ זִבְחֵ֣י תוֹדָ֑ה וִֽיסַפְּר֖וּ מַעֲשָׂ֣יו בְּרִנָּֽה׃ ׆ | כב | 22 | And let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with singing. |
| יוֹרְדֵ֣י הַ֭יָּם בָּאֳנִיּ֑וֹת עֹשֵׂ֥י מְ֝לָאכָ֗ה בְּמַ֣יִם רַבִּֽים׃ ׆ | כג | 23 | They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters-- |
| הֵ֣מָּה רָ֭אוּ מַעֲשֵׂ֣י יְהוָ֑ה וְ֝נִפְלְאוֹתָ֗יו בִּמְצוּלָֽה׃ ׆ | כד | 24 | These saw the works of Yehovah, and His wonders in the deep; |
| וַיֹּ֗אמֶר וַֽ֭יַּעֲמֵד ר֣וּחַ סְעָרָ֑ה וַתְּרוֹמֵ֥ם גַּלָּֽיו׃ ׆ | כה | 25 | For He commanded, and raised the stormy wind, which lifted up the waves thereof; |
| יַעֲל֣וּ שָׁ֭מַיִם יֵרְד֣וּ תְהוֹמ֑וֹת נַ֝פְשָׁ֗ם בְּרָעָ֥ה תִתְמוֹגָֽג׃ | כו | 26 | They mounted up to the heaven, they went down to the deeps; their soul melted away because of trouble; |
| יָח֣וֹגּוּ וְ֭יָנוּעוּ כַּשִּׁכּ֑וֹר וְכָל־חָ֝כְמָתָ֗ם תִּתְבַּלָּֽע׃ | כז | 27 | They reeled to and fro, and staggered like a drunken man, and all their wisdom was swallowed up-- |
| וַיִּצְעֲק֣וּ אֶל־יְ֭הוָה בַּצַּ֣ר לָהֶ֑ם וּֽ֝מִמְּצֽוּקֹתֵיהֶ֗ם יוֹצִיאֵֽם׃ | כח | 28 | They cried unto Yehovah in their trouble, and He brought them out of their distresses. |
| יָקֵ֣ם סְ֭עָרָה לִדְמָמָ֑ה וַ֝יֶּחֱשׁ֗וּ גַּלֵּיהֶֽם׃ | כט | 29 | He made the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof were still. |
| וַיִּשְׂמְח֥וּ כִֽי־יִשְׁתֹּ֑קוּ וַ֝יַּנְחֵ֗ם אֶל־מְח֥וֹז חֶפְצָֽם׃ | ל | 30 | Then were they glad because they were quiet, and He led them unto their desired haven. |
| יוֹד֣וּ לַיהוָ֣ה חַסְדּ֑וֹ וְ֝נִפְלְאוֹתָ֗יו לִבְנֵ֥י אָדָֽם׃ | לא | 31 | Let them give thanks unto Yehovah for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! |
| וִֽ֭ירֹמְמוּהוּ בִּקְהַל־עָ֑ם וּבְמוֹשַׁ֖ב זְקֵנִ֣ים יְהַלְלֽוּהוּ׃ | לב | 32 | Let them exalt Him also in the assembly of the people, and praise Him in the seat of the elders. |
| יָשֵׂ֣ם נְהָר֣וֹת לְמִדְבָּ֑ר וּמֹצָ֥אֵי מַ֝֗יִם לְצִמָּאֽוֹן׃ | לג | 33 | He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and watersprings into a thirsty ground; |
| אֶ֣רֶץ פְּ֭רִי לִמְלֵחָ֑ה מֵ֝רָעַ֗ת יֹ֣שְׁבֵי בָֽהּ׃ | לד | 34 | A fruitful land into a salt waste, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein. |
| יָשֵׂ֣ם מִ֭דְבָּר לַֽאֲגַם־מַ֑יִם וְאֶ֥רֶץ צִ֝יָּ֗ה לְמֹצָ֥אֵי מָֽיִם׃ | לה | 35 | He turneth a wilderness into a pool of water, and a dry land into watersprings. |
| וַיּ֣וֹשֶׁב שָׁ֣ם רְעֵבִ֑ים וַ֝יְכוֹנְנ֗וּ עִ֣יר מוֹשָֽׁב׃ | לו | 36 | And there He maketh the hungry to dwell, and they establish a city of habitation; |
| וַיִּזְרְע֣וּ שָׂ֭דוֹת וַיִּטְּע֣וּ כְרָמִ֑ים וַ֝יַּעֲשׂ֗וּ פְּרִ֣י תְבֽוּאָה׃ | לז | 37 | And sow fields, and plant vineyards, which yield fruits of increase. |
| וַיְבָרֲכֵ֣ם וַיִּרְבּ֣וּ מְאֹ֑ד וּ֝בְהֶמְתָּ֗ם לֹ֣א יַמְעִֽיט׃ | לח | 38 | He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly, and suffereth not their cattle to decrease. |
| וַיִּמְעֲט֥וּ וַיָּשֹׁ֑חוּ מֵעֹ֖צֶר רָעָ֣ה וְיָגֽוֹן׃ ׆ | לט | 39 | Again, they are minished and dwindle away through oppression of evil and sorrow. |
| שֹׁפֵ֣ךְ בּ֭וּז עַל־נְדִיבִ֑ים וַ֝יַּתְעֵ֗ם בְּתֹ֣הוּ לֹא־דָֽרֶךְ׃ | מ | 40 | He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the waste, where there is no way. |
| וַיְשַׂגֵּ֣ב אֶבְי֣וֹן מֵע֑וֹנִי וַיָּ֥שֶׂם כַּ֝צֹּ֗אן מִשְׁפָּחֽוֹת׃ | מא | 41 | Yet setteth He the needy on high from affliction, and maketh his families like a flock. |
| יִרְא֣וּ יְשָׁרִ֣ים וְיִשְׂמָ֑חוּ וְכָל־עַ֝וְלָ֗ה קָ֣פְצָה פִּֽיהָ׃ | מב | 42 | The upright see it, and are glad; and all iniquity stoppeth her mouth. |
| מִי־חָכָ֥ם וְיִשְׁמָר־אֵ֑לֶּה וְ֝יִתְבּֽוֹנְנ֗וּ חַֽסְדֵ֥י יְהוָֽה׃ | מג | 43 | Whoso is wise, let him observe these things, and let them consider the mercies of Yehovah. {P} |
